Stedman Community Hospice Hike for Hospice ~ May 4th
On Sunday, May 4th thousands of Canadians from coast to coast will join forces and walk, stroll or hike 1km, 2km and 4km for an annual event called Hike for Hospice.
This marks our 4th year to be participating in this incredible day. Our Hike begins at 1pm at Stedman Community Hospice at 99 Wayne Gretzky Parkway in the beautiful city of Brantford. Once again, 100% of all funds raised at our Hike will go towards the programs and services offered free-of-charge at Stedman Community Hospice.
This year, our Hike asks, "Who Will You Hike For?" Since our Hospice doors opened in 2004, we have had the privilege of sharing in the lives of some incredible people, full of courage and tremendous strength of character.
It's astonishing that every month an average of 2,100 people are accessing the services and programs offered free of charge to anyone, at any age or stage of a terminal illness.
We hope that you can join us, as together we can accomplish so much more for the many patients and families of Stedman Community Hospice.
See you at the Hike!

Wednesday, March 19th ~ Dedicated Hikers
Today I had a lovely conversation with a Hiker from last year, Cathy Carswell. Cathy and her daughter Kerry are returning to the Hike for Hospice this year and have already been collecting pledges.
Cathy is in a wheelchair, but that doesn't stop her! Last year, the pair were committed to completing the entire 4km and are proud to report...they did it. Cathy was happy to tell me that their dog Molly also took part in the Hike, sporting a Hike for Hospice t-shirt. They are looking forward to another 4km Hike this year...way to go Cathy and Kerry!
This year, the Carswell ladies will be Hiking in memory of Cathy's mom who just recently passed away at the Lifecare Centre...a great tribute to a great woman.
